Chemo Eve
We are sitting on Chemo Eve and I just wanted to get a update out to you all.
We had a HUGE praise today: They did the bone scan & CT Scan and they see no cancer anywhere else. We are thanking God for this answer to prayer! To put into words the incredible relief I felt today that "yes, we are fighting cancer tomorrow but God knew I needed a praise and He delivered" is just awe inspiring. We serve a God who knows our hearts, He knows my needs as He created me.
The bone scan and CT scan were uneventful, not fun of course as I don't lay completely still with contrast and nuclear meds flowing through me well, but I made it through and met some great people at the hospital. I continue to be amazed at the great people who work in health care. They have a gifting I just don't have.
We are as prepared as we can be for tomorrow, sitting on Chemo Eve with nerves flowing and anticipation for the unknown. I continue to quote my port pillow. "My faith is bigger than my fear." We ordered me a cold cap to help with hair loss, I'm very excited about it and it arrived today like scheduled. We'll give it a try tomorrow and each time we have chemo. Without this cap my hair would definitely all fall out and with the cap I'm praying for at a least 50% to stay and for no permanent hair loss! Higher percentages would be AWESOME!! We'll see how this goes!
I am also praying for my body to handle this as well as possible, some of the side effects are down right scary and a little overwhelming. I know I have to fight this battle, I know that I will have hard days but I also belief that with God this will be doable! And my amazing doctors will help me where ever they can to make me as comfortable as possible.
We've had a tough week. Emotionally, Physically, and Mentally but our words this week are "stay positive". I have been asking the kids every chance I get to tell me what is something positive we can focus on. Where is the good in what is happening? I will tell you at times it's hard to find the answer but we are looking and they are appearing. At times its little things and then it's big things. I truly believe staying positive is how we win battles in our minds. We can't allow negative thoughts or experiences take up root and cause us to turn away from the good things that are all around. Every day I know you and others I don't even have a clue about are praying for us. Lifting us up or thinking about us and that alone is a huge positive!
One last thing... many of you have asked about bringing us a meal. I am going to be honest with you. This just adds stress to our family. We have a dog who is a pain when people ring the doorbell. We aren't easy to feed and I think at this time the easiest thing is either a gift card to take out or a gift card to King Soopers. Between our daughter & son and my parents they are preparing dinner and doing a great job at getting it done. But I do want to say thank you so much for wanting to take care of us!
Ok... this is long and I'm going to wrap it up so it can hopefully hit your email box. If you aren't getting these... there is a bunch of you who haven't clicked on the accept email in your inbox (check junk email) it might be there too!
Love you all!
