Testing & Consults

As we travel this journey, appointments seem to be the name of the game right now. Which is a blessing and a curse. We are getting amazing care and seeing incredible doctors and staff, but it's a lot, to the point of overwhelming at times.

We have seen our surgeon and oncologist and have a few more answers and plans. Right now what we know is this is Stage II Invasive ductile HER2 + Breast Cancer. The good & bad news is it's aggressive but very treatable. We will start with Chemo and do 6 rounds every three weeks. We are not sure exactly when that will start but it will be soon, I'd say next 2 weeks or so.  After we get that completed we will do surgery, what that will entail we don't know yet. We are making decisions on a have to basis. I have more testing scheduled next week. Main test being a MRI and a possible PET scan. We are needing a little more data so we make the best plans possible. And they will put in a port for Chemo.

Our immediate prayer requests: Strength to handle the emotions that come in like a tidal wave. Wisdom for the doctors and us as we make decisions. They are very good at what they do but we are brand new to this journey. Patience for each other as we are all dealing with this in different ways. I will say we all seem to be doing pretty well considering.

Positives: I feel like God is directing our every step. We have a great team of people.
Flexible schedules with work so we can both go to appointments and be together.
Incredible kids who work very hard and are managing their stuff pretty well.
A support team that is amazing - the prayers, texts, calls, little surprises have been amazing! We feel your love and appreciate you!
