Weekend Update - Yes I will
I really wasn't sure what to except with the first round of Chemo. I will say that it hasn't been as bad as I thought, but it also hasn't been awesome. I have been taking it easy and resting at home. Haven't done any major outings and just staying close to my comfort areas. I was told to make sure to hydrate and that I have been doing. Drinking tons of water and gatorade. I have had a few times of nausea but really trying to stay on top of that by eating small meals regularly. Mainly I'm just very sore, almost like the flu aches and get dizzy off and on. My family has been incredible in taking care of me. The kids have been checking on me and getting me things I might need. I'm trying to get up and move around each day to keep up strength, I am getting tired pretty quickly. Yesterday, we even decorated the house for fall, since I've been a little behind.
Overall, I'm praying that each day just gets better and better before round two. We are scheduled for that November 7th, this will be our new normal, chemo scheduled for every 3 weeks like this through January 30th. After that we'll make plans for a surgery and then I'll have antibodies for a year. It's nice to have a plan and kind of know where we are heading but not overly fun to think about it too far. We just have it on the calendar as kind of a "oh, we'll have to do that again" kind of thing.
I'm still at times overwhelmed by all that has happened in such a short time but I know that God is walking with us through each step of this valley and that we are going to come out on the other side stronger! God's got this in His hands and I feel that each day, I really don't know what I'd do without my faith and the amazing people that are in our lives. Each text and outpouring of love is precious during this time and I just want to continue to say thank you!
As I didn't make it to church this morning, I was listening to some worship music and this song... "Yes, I will" by Vertical Worship is my song during this. I know that God will not fail me, he is working all things out in this process and I'm going to bless His name and sing for Joy!
Have a great week!!
