Chemo Eve #3

Here we are again, Round #3 is tomorrow.  This time between rounds went sooo fast, I don't feel ready and it comes just as I start to feel good again and then it's here. I know it's just part of the journey and I am glad time is moving fast. We are half way there. God's timing has been perfect as always in so many ways, one way is having this round right before Thanksgiving.  Lots have said "oh I'm sorry you have to have chemo right before Thanksgiving", but I am not sorry. Why? I really don't feel too bad the day after as I still have some of the good drugs in my system, my dad always cooks for us on Thanksgiving and I will get to go to my parents house (that I grew up in) and hang out/rest with them... so really that is pretty perfect, I'm sure they won't even mind if I come in my comfortable clothes. And to top it off, I don't have to cook or clean. I consider that a blessing.  There has been a few things I've had to miss because of our cancer journey but overall the timing is working out just right, I know that is a God thing.

I did end up with the "virus" about a week after the last round, so I did have some next icky days in there as I fought that off, but I feel like I'm getting over that finally.  I'm learning one thing with this whole journey is that I just have to take each day as it comes, it's baby steps, I can't look to far ahead I just have to be intentional about the time I have each day. I have a lot going on most days and I want to keep up with them the best I can, but I have to determine that daily. There are some days I just don't have it in me and I have to realize it's OK, when those times come, I rest and take it easy.

So, on this Chemo Eve and Thanksgiving Eve Eve... I'm thankful. I'm thankful for all God has provided and continues to provide. He has done some amazing things for us during this year. I'm thankful for all our family & friends who love me (& us), especially when I'm difficult and I'll tell you I've been difficult.  I'm thankful for my kids who have been incredible and supportive of a mommy who is hard to be with at times. And my amazing husband who goes above and beyond what I deserve. He is showing me Christ's love on a daily basis and for that I'm thankful. I could go on and on but I won't... just know that I'm thankful. My heart is full and we are blessed!

I'll keep you updated as we go through the next few days. Hopefully it's with no major news. Just pray that we get through this round with no major side effects. That we all stay uplifted in our spirits, and that we keep our eyes focused on the things we are thankful for...

Couple of pictures...
We all took a mountain day on Saturday and spent the day together. It was awesome to take a day to be together!

We had 14" or so of snow today. It was beautiful!! This was after it stopped blowing all over and we spent quite a while shoveling and blowing snow out front.
