MRI Update
I posted some of this on Facebook yesterday but wanted to share it here as well. We had an MRI yesterday. The MRI was ordered by the surgeon so that we could use the data to make some decisions regarding specifics in the surgery and also to gather information on how effective chemo was and where the cancer is currently, believing it's gone. We are hoping to have results by Friday when we have the first of a group of appointment to complete the plan before the big day in March.
As you know I've been sick with a nasty virus. We thought I might even have a sinus infection and I was put on antibiotics to try to get me better. The antibiotics made me sick. The other meds they gave me made me sick. Pretty much every thing I've done to try to get over this sickness has made it worse. I didn't have a voice for 7 days and I developed this nasty cough. Because of this I wasn't sure how I was possibly going to make it through the MRI. I was panicking, I'll be honest. I haven't had a full nights rest in two weeks.
Yesterday I woke up with the cough and was nervous most of the day. We got to the hospital and I had my bottle of water with me. I didn't cough one time from the time we hit the doors of the hospital until we got back in the car. I was able to do the MRI with no coughing, and laid completely still the whole time. The biggest praise... when you have an MRI they give you headphones to listen to music. They asked me what kind I wanted to listen to... I said christian music. I got in the tube and the very first song that came on has my song. My anthem song that I've held close to my heart through this journey. It's "Yes, I will." I'll include it below for you to listen again if you'd like. This song fills me with so much emotion. I was actually a little worried I'd cry in the MRI, but even with the song I was able to just feel the presence of God in the tube with me. I was able to calmly breath and stay calm through the whole procedure. I know that God was with me. He knows what we need when we need it. I knew the importance of this test. I knew this is something I must walk through. That there is no easy out, no magical way to get out of this specific valley. I've known this through this whole cancer journey. I have never once thought, God will just take this. I know I have to walk through this. He has a plan for this suffering. Even when it's hard and it's been hard - He is there to remind me it's going to be ok and we'll get through this. And yesterday I felt this in such a powerful way, it made me stop and just praise Him. And today I'm still just praising Him.
This next phase is going to be hard. It's going to take more strength than I have but with God on my side I truly believe I'm going to be just fine. I can get through this. He has given me everything I need to do just that... get through it and praise Him in the process! We have people praying (thank you), people loving us (thank you) and people who are supporting us through each step! (Thank you!!!!) You are being used to give us strength and I want you to know how blessed we feel because of you!
Sorry this is so long but I wanted to have this story on our blog so we can look back and remember His blessings! Because yes I will lift Him high in the lowest valley and bless His name no matter what!
