New plans

I've sent the day talking to all the parties at be about the "new plan". Can this change... of course. That is what I've learned. God is the only one who knows the plan. He isn't shocked. And I am so thankful for that. Even though the lesson is hard, trusting is ultimately what my job is, now God also designed me to gather information, to make a plan and to be involved in this process. That is where I sat today, gathering information & making new plans. And enjoying a Starbucks coffee (first one in months), spending some time at Target (one of my favorite places), and laughing with people in my life  ( I have some incredible people in my life).

New Plan: We will still have surgery on Wednesday, March 4th. It will be only 4-5 hours long (praise God), it will have a shorter recovery time, and it will propel us into Phase 2, with a phase 3 and maybe even a phase 4 or 5 or 6 - who knows.

Then, I'll heal from surgery and then start radiation probably in 4-6 weeks. After that we will wait about 6 months to finish reconstruction. All of these is the possible plan with possibilities unknown.

My dad has always said to me "we have a firm flexible policy". I've heard this for years and I always smile when he says it. Today I understand what that means a little more. And I'm ready to be flexible and trust in God.  Yesterday as I sat and questioned "why" this was happening I keep just calling out to God and praying for clarity and understanding. Today I know I don't need to understand, I just need to know that for whatever reason this "new" path is the one we are suppose to be on. It made me stop in my tracks yesterday, it made me realize that I was putting way to much in "my" plan and now it's time to remember to take day by day, moment by moment. I was able to have special conversations with my kids, ones I'll treasure FOREVER and that wouldn't have happened if I continued to focus on "my" plan.

Thank you for reaching out, for praying, for loving us and thinking about us! I truly love the text messages and the comments on Facebook. You are the real blessing to us each and every time! And my heart is full knowing you are in our corner! We love you and couldn't imagine this journey without you!
