Seasons of flex

We are all in a season of flex. We are all learning to be flexible. We got to have church in our family room today. It was a very special time of listening to our incredible pastors online, joining in on worship, and then taking a moment as a family to talk and pray together. Was it a "normal" Sunday morning where we all got ready and headed off to the church building, no, but did we have church, you bet. "The church isn't a building it's the people." - Pastor Chad. I'm so thankful for our family and their love for Jesus. We are learning to come together and lean on each other. Today we talked a lot about being intentional and looking for ways to love, serve and be there for one another. It was pretty powerful stuff.

This season for us has been full of growing and stretching. We have had so many different areas that are stretching us and I think overall we are doing well but there are moments where life is hard and we are stretched thin. I think overall we feel stretched thin right now. Having mom in recovery mode is difficult to watch. I tried to process how hard this would be beforehand and talk to the kids about what this stage would look like but there was just no way to prepare for this. Every day I truly am getting better and better. I'm able to do more and more but I'm still limited in so many areas and that is hard for me personally and for my family. We have been so blessed to have people helping us, we wouldn't be making it without them. I think we forgot how important people are in our lives until we struggle and it is then you really start to treasure the people in your life. That is where I sit right now, I'm just so thankful and feel so blessed, even in those moments of difficult times.

Lastly, I did tell you we had a doctor appointment Friday.  They said healing is going great! Everything looks perfect. The road to totally recovery is long, we'll be having weekly appointment with my doctor and will continue to need radiation which will probably start in about 4 weeks, although we still don't have a start date on that. I don't remember if I told you, but they were able to get all the cancer with surgery. All the pathology has come back clear. This doesn't change our road but we praise God for the good report and the amazing doctors who have a plan for me.

Praying for you all today on this National Day of Prayer. May God provide for all you need, comfort you during this time, and bring you peace in all you face in this season of flex. Love you!
