Time flys

Time has the ability to get away from me... it goes by so fast.  I can't believe that I didn't update at all in September, so here is a little October update.

I finished infusions on the 24th of September and wow was that a good feeling. I was a little more emotional than I thought I'd be. This year has felt so long and so short at the same time... you wouldn't imagine that probably as you'd assume it's just been long, but because of the emotions and the weight of it all at times, it feels like the days are short but the year is long - I finally understand that saying. I'm sure you have all felt that way with this year of Covid.

Now that I'm done with infusions, we move into watch phase. They will see me regularly to monitor my cancer free status. I'm still having side effects. Someone said to me the other day that you now treat the treatment and I thought yes that is the perfect way to describe what is happening at this point. We are managing and dealing with the side effects of treatment. It's like the clean up stage of breast cancer. I'll be 100% honest I don't think I like it.  It's made me crabby at times that I haven't expected. I keep thinking I went through all the hard stuff and this in my mind was suppose to be the easy stage and it's so not. I'm not fighting cancer anymore and for some reason this seems harder. I know it's not when I really think about it and I can look back and see the supernatural strength that God was giving me.  It still gives me chills when I think about the times that He carried me through things that I just don't know how I managed to get through.

I continue to count my blessings every single day and know that where we are is exactly where we are suppose to be. I'm back at work and loving being able to work. I'm teaching the boys and am able to be with them which I treasure.  And I'm spending time with my family that I just love.

I hope this finds you well and counting your blessings also.  We are thankful for you thinking of us and checking in.  We are blessed with amazing people in our lives who always ask how we are and genuinely care about the answer. Thank you!
