Week Two Post Op
Today I had my two-week post-op check-up. I can't believe it's been over two weeks since the surgery. It's funny because it feels like it's been a quick two weeks and some of the longest two weeks at the same time. I don't know how it's possible but it is. I am doing really well. Every time I see the Dr, he tells me how great everything looks and how pleased he is with the results, which makes me really happy.
Although, when I look at myself all I see are the things that will still have to be done. Don't misread me, I'm so happy that I'm healing well and that everything is healthy and we are moving in the right direction. It's a great place to be. And we will get to the phase 2 fix up/revise stage soon enough.
I'm at the point in recovery that my body is still moving slow and there are many things I can't do but my mind is ready to get back to doing the things I want. I have to keep reminding myself to listen to my body and only do what I can. I went for a pretty decent walk today, at least the farthest that I've done since surgery and I did pretty well, got a little slow toward the end but I did it. I have not had any pain meds for the last two days. And each day doing basic daily tasks is getting easier and easier. It amazes me how many things we take for granted; like putting on our own socks, picking up something that falls on the floor, and standing up from a chair. It really is the little things in life you start to say thank you for!
We wish you all a very Happy Easter! We are going to enjoy lunch with family. Nice and quiet. I'll be watching church from home which will be a little weird for me as I really want to be there in person but I just don't think it's a good idea yet. And Jesus doesn't care where I watch church from which is the reason we celebrate this weekend anyway, that He has Risen! And that He took on the pain and suffering of the cross for the salvation of our sins. There is no great gift than Jesus' forgiveness and I'm so thankful for His love for me!
